The MLS stands for Multiple Listing
Service and is the real estate industry standard database of listings.
Every real estate agent that is a member of a local board is a member of
the MLS. There are different software applications that agents use to
access the database of information. Some common software used nowadays are
MLXchange, StellerView, MLS Passport, and others. No matter the software
the agent uses to access the information, the info provided by the MLS is
accurate. The status of a home can be checked 24 hours a day. Most online
free MLS websites may not always have updated information because these
sites only update more or less once per day. If you are selling your home,
you will reach 87% more homebuyers by featuring your home in the MLS.
