When Should I Place My Home On The MLS?

  < Home

Chances are it may take weeks to find the buyer, so you should start now. However, on the other hand, be prepared to have agents come to your home. If the home is not prepared to stage, then hold off on the MLS listing. Your home will be marketed 24/7 to potential homebuyers and they will want to see the home at odd times. Most people will want to see the home on the weekends, or in the evenings. So be sure you are able to maximize availability to these homebuyers. In most situations, it will take an average of 45 days from contract to closing. It will take anywhere from a single day to several weeks or even months to get a solid contract on the home. This depends on several factors, including the local market, the condition of the home, and the motivation of you, the seller which will be reflected in the asking price.
